In the past few years, the digital world has become an integral part of our daily lives. and it's slowly affecting the spatial dimension we currently live in. With the rise of the metaverse, people are spending more time connected to a headset, disconnected from their environment. This project reimagines and redefines the city and urban life in light of this phenomenon becoming a reality.
Thus, what is the role of the physical city of today in the new metaverse world? How will the urban space function? What does the built environment look like?
The project portrays an exaggerated dystopia of a reality where life has shifted from the physical world to a parallel world in the metaverse, splitting the physical space into two juxtaposed realities; the infrastructural backend that holds the housing and warehouses, and the “amusement“ where the physical city turns into an experience of entertainment and a way of remembrance of the old Urban experience.
